It is the first day after I stopped my collaboration as a social media marketing manager (freelancer) for OneCoWork; coworking space in Barcelona. It was a decision between going for a secure full-time job OR taking the risk, staying free as a bird, just going with the flow and hoping to find enough projects to be able to survive. I admit, it was not an easy decision.
Participating in a global tour with Startup Campus to attend multiple B2B sessions, pitching competitions and networking events
Just one day after I made my choice, I felt like the universe had dropped me a gift from the sky! I was offered the opportunity to go on a global tour as a photographer and videographer with ‘Startup Campus’. This would mean traveling to 10 different startup destinations such as New York, London, Hong Kong, Tel Aviv, Dubai and more in order to attend multiple B2B sessions, pitching competitions and networking events. Startup Campus is a global program that guides startups on their journey toward global expansion and success on international markets by offering education, consulting, incubation and investment opportunities.
The V4 regional startup ecosystem
The main objective of the Startup Campus V4 Global Tour is to boost the discoverability of the V4 region’s startup ecosystem, specifically highlighting the economic and innovation potential of the V4 countries – Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Startup Campus plays an important role to startups of this region as they not only offer an all-round mentorship program, and serve as a talent and modeling agency connecting startups with investors worldwide.
A world of innovation and inspiration
The launch of the Startup Campus V4 Global tour was in Istanbul at the WBAF (World Business Angels Investment Forum) February 18th-20th, with focus on the life science, e-commerce. I joined the tour at the second destination in Berlin, within the framework of the Startup Camp Berlin tech event April 14th & 15th, with special focus on e-commerce, life science and fintech. The third stop was the USA East Coast tour(Boston, Connecticut, NYC, Worcester and back to Boston) with health care focus, where the anchor event was TECHDAY NYC on May 10th. The 4th destination was to Vienna where we hosted the first Startup Campus University Innovative Idea Battle at the Pioneers tech festival.
Through attending lots of tech & networking events, I discovered the exciting world of startups. So many people full of ambition; finding ideas and bringing solutions together. The startup world has so much to offer; it is a world of innovation and inspiration where you connect with people and focus on growth.
Pitching & networking event at ‘London Tech week’
The next stop of the global tour is London, where we will attend ‘London Tech Week’, a week-long series of tech and innovation-related events and conferences scattered all around the British capital. Main highlight is the Startup Campus pitching & networking event that you just can’t miss. Different startups will present their ideas and it is a great opportunity to learn and make important connections.
